If I could give a zero star I would. I’ve been a customer of Boston standard for over five years and had a service maintenance plan with them for that long. I was smelling gas and called them out to check. The tech said that the gas smell was coming from new piping that was done by the utility company because they moved my meter from in my house to outside. she said it would cost $800 to diagnose where the leak was coming from and then additional money for repairs. I mentioned to her that I probably should call the gas company and she said that if you call them, they could come and put a lock on my gas meter and that would cost me thousands more because they would have to pull a permit to get the job done. I decided to call the gas company because they’re the one who installed the piping and when they came, there was no leak from the new piping. The leak was actually coming from a newly install hot water tank that I had. When I called the Boston standard service manager to let him know what happened. He said that he didn’t see anything wrong with what the tech did. Unbelievable!
Update: after seeing my review someone in management did reach out to see if there was anything that they could do that would be helpful. So I’ve changed my rating to 2 stars
