I asked for an estimate to replace a tankless hot water heater. The representative came and gave an estimate for $4118! I had it done adequately by Gladiators Mechanical for $550. I should also explain that, as BSC saw, this is a replacement of one model for a similar model — not a full installation. It was explained that this is a full-day job for two people…this means the charge-out rate is over $2000/day, or $250/hr which is about twice as much as my experience with Boston plumbers. Gladiators was here for 5-6 hours.
