South End Gets Comfortable with Weil-McLain and Boston Standard!
Summary of job
This brownstone had a 10 year old Buderus boiler with an aluminum heat exchanger that was leaking.
The Solution
We had the option of receiving a new heat exchanger under the Buderus warranty, but we also proposed a new Weil-McLain Evergreen 220 boiler as it solved a lot of the building issues. The big difference? The Weil-McLain has a 10-stage burner, so as a single apartment calls for heat, the boiler could properly adjust itself to match the building’s heating needs.
The old Buderus was a nice product but had a 5-stage valve which often left it a bit too big for the system, meaning it didn’t give the efficiency that was expected of it. We also paired this with a Caleffi SEP 4 Hydro-Separator to manage system dirt, air and piping in one clean and neat package. This system is ready to rip and the clients couldn’t be happier!
