GASNETWORKS’ 2013 REBATES FOR COMMERCIAL INSTALLATIONS

Last week, I posted information about rebates on specific residential heating, hot water, and heat control equipment that are available through GasNetworks. GasNetworks also offers a host of rebates on commercial heating equipment through a similar program for 2013.

Businesses, including manufacturing sites, large and small retail outlets, K-12 schools, universities, colleges, dormitories, restaurants, grocery stores, heavy industrial sites, hospitals, hotels and motels, large and small office buildings, multi-story retail centers, multi-family dwellings, and warehouses (among others) can take advantage of rebates of $300 on natural gas furnaces with an Electronic Commutated Motor (ECM) that are rated at up to 150 MBH and have an efficiency rating of 95% or better. Rebates of $450 are available for similarly rated furnaces with efficiency ratings of 97% or better.

Rebates of $750 are available for condensing unit heaters rated at up to 300 MBH with a thermal efficiency rating of 90% or better as well as low-intensity infrared heaters of any size. Rebates between $750 and $10,000 on condensing boilers of various sizes and efficiency ratings are also available.
Rebates of between $100 and $800 are available for on-demand tankless, high-efficiency indirect, condensing stand-alone, and EnergyStar freestanding domestic hot water systems. Rebates of $1,200 are available for condensing boilers with on-demand domestic hot water capabilities.
After-market boiler reset controls, programmable thermostats and steam traps also qualify for rebates of between $25 and $225 under this program.

Commercial program rules permit rebates for multiple units, however rebate requests that exceed $25,000 must be pre-approved by GasNetworks to ensure funding availability. As with the residential program, all installations must be performed by licensed contractors, all installations must occur between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013 and all rebate requests and documentation must be submitted within 60 days of installation. Rebates are available for new construction, renovations, and both planned and unplanned replacement of existing equipment.

Eligible equipment must be purchased and installed in order to claim available rebates. A comprehensive list of qualifying equipment can be found at http://www.ahridirectory.org. For more information about GasNeworks’ commercial heating, hot water and heating control rebates, as well as eligible equipment and installation requirements, please contact us at Boston Standard Plumbing at (617) 362-0377 anytime. We’ll be happy to consult with you on the program and rebates your business may be eligible for.
