COOL. SMART. SAVE WITH COOL SMART EARLY AC REPLACEMENT PROGRAM BOSTON

MassSave is offering a cool, smart early air-conditioning unit replacement program that Boston homeowners can take advantage of this summer. Through November 30, 2014, the CoolSmart program is offering rebates of up to $1,000 on the replacement of ducted central air conditioning units and air source heat pump units.

Rebate amounts vary, based on the efficiency of the new unit. Units with a SEER rating of 16.5 or greater are eligible for the full $1,000 rebate. Units with a SEER rating of 15 or greater are eligible for an $800 rebate and units with a SEER of 14.5 or greater are eligible for a $650 rebate. Air source heat pumps with efficiency ratings of between 8.2 and 8.5 are eligible for rebates of between $650 and $1,000.

To qualify for the Early Central AC and Ducted Heat Pump Replacement program, existing units must be in working condition, and applicants must be residential electric customers of a MassSave program sponsor. Participating MassSave sponsors include National Grid, Cape Light Compact, NSTAR Electric, Unitil and Western Massachusetts Electric. (Municipal Electric does not sponsor this rebate program.) First-time central air conditioner installations, first-time heat pump installations and ductless mini-split systems also do not qualify for rebates from this program.

Applicants must have a site visit conducted by a qualified CoolSmart Home Energy Services installer no later than September 30, 2014 and all installation work must be completed by November 30, 2014. Homeowners can combine Early Central AC and Ducted Heat Pump Replacement rebates with rebates from the Early Boiler or Early Furnace Replacement programs for increased savings.

Replacing inefficient central air conditioning systems can reduce your electricity consumption by 30% or more. This reduces your summer energy bill and puts your hard-earned cash back in your pocket! Central air conditioning can also improve the overall comfort of your home, and correct humidity and air quality conditions in your home that may cause you to overspend on climate control.

High efficiency air conditioning units also retain their high cost-savings and low energy usage when they are cleaned and maintained annually. Boston Standard Company and our team of qualified installers and maintenance technicians can help you select the best replacement central air conditioning unit or heat pump for your residence, and can ensure that it runs properly from Day 1.
